2021 Run for Missions

The 2021 Run for Missions is scheduled for Saturday, November 6. Ten teams from across EFC-MAYM will be running 10-mile stages in a 100-mile relay, starting in Haviland and finishing in Wichita. Seven areas across the yearly meeting will be represented, as well as Barclay College, Friends University, and Friends Women. You can support one or more of these teams, as all are challenged to raise $2,500 to help reach our goal of $25,000! 

This year we will be supporting our EFM workers in Ireland: the Howell family, Kathi Perry, and Molly Morton. These workers are in need of our prayerful and financial support! A special addition this year, David Howell will be joining our team, running ‘alongside’ our stateside runners, as he runs in Ireland! HS Youth Group Concessions at the Barclay Sale – The high school youth group will be running the concession stand at the Barclay Sale. This is one of our main fundraisers for Spring Invasion, a spring break mission trip to Mexico. This year we are asking for hamburger bun donations and/or monetary donations to help with the cost of other needed grocery items. Buns or monetary donations need to be delivered to either Michael’s or Traci’s office by this Wednesday, September 29. We will be passing around a clipboard Sunday morning for people to sign up for hamburger bun donations. Thank you for investing in our students and for helping provide them with opportunities for service and spiritual growth. We appreciate you all very much! 2t-5t sweatshirts/sweatpants and elastic/sporty shorts (most kids have sensitivities that make jeans difficult)

bed pillows and plastic cases for pillows (we learned this the hard way– lots of bloody noses, dirty beds come morning:(

Promotion Sunday is this Sunday, August 15. We will be recognizing and welcoming our 6th & 9th graders moving into junior high and high school youth group. Shaving Cream Whiffle Ball is this Sunday at 2:00pm at HFC for incoming junior high students.

The Barclay College cafeteria will be open to the public this Sunday, August 15!

You are invited to a come-and-go style baby shower for Rance and April Lothman this Sunday, August 15, from 2:00-4:00pm at the Youth Building. They are registered on Amazon, but mostly just need diapers of all sizes to be ready to welcome their daughter in September.

Community Wide Prayer Walk for Schools August 15 – You are invited this Sunday, August 15, at 6:00pm for a community wide school prayer walk. Prayer walks will be taking place at Barclay College, Haviland Elementary School, Kiowa County Schools, Pratt and Skyline. Prayer walking is just what it means. You walk while you pray. Prayers can be silent or out loud. You can walk by yourself or with others. If you are unable to walk, a group will gather at the church to pray for our schools. What a joy to partner with God in prayer! We are looking for a few people who will be point people at each school. If you are interested, please contact Brockie and remember, all ages are welcome!!!
