Community Wide Prayer Walk for Schools August 19

You are invited this Sunday, August 19, at 6:00pm for a community wide school prayer walk. Prayer walks will be taking place at Barclay College, Haviland Elementary School, Kiowa County, Pratt and Skyline. Prayer walking is just what it means. You walk while you pray.  Prayers can be silent or out loud. You can walk by yourself or with others. If you are unable to walk, a group will gather at the church to pray for our schools. What a joy to partner with God in prayer! All ages are welcome!!!

Stay Connected to our HFC College Students!

Going away to college can be a tough transition for kids. Todd would like to encourage HFC to stay connected to our college students through prayer, letters and care packages while they are away at college. If you have a college student or know of one for this list please send names and addresses to hfcoffice@havilandfriends.org.

Nursery Helpers Needed

It’s that time of year again, we are updating our nursery helpers list. We have three rooms that we like to keep staffed to help out all of the young families who attend our church: the infant and one year olds nursery (across from the office), the two and three year old nursery (downstairs beside the lady’s bathroom) and the 4-5’s preschool children’s church. The more volunteers we have the less often each person will need to serve. Ideally we need twelve sets of helpers for each room, which would give us a three month rotation. Please talk to Traci or KC if you can help.

HFC is having a pancake breakfast on August 26 at 9:45am before the morning worship service to welcome the Barclay College students and love on them with food, fellowship and supplies. Please help us welcome the students!

Do you have any of these extra NEW items not being used at your house? Please bring them to the church and put them on the kitchen counter on August 19. Ideas: Toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, deodorant, washcloths, towels, paper napkins, plates, cups, silverware, pens, paper, folders, binders, ramen noodles, snack food, phone chargers, twin sheets, pillowcases, blankets, etc. We aren’t asking you to buy anything, just share the NEW items you might already have in case some of our new neighbors (BC college students) forgot an item or two.

If you would consider filling the role of planning and setting up for our Operation Christmas Child night that happens mid-November please contact KC at: kc.lingafelter@havilandfriends.org.
